1500kms in 7 days????? it's an easy 3 days for me and my riding buddies. Anyway that is not the point here. It sounds like you are very happy with the results but do they really work well in any kinds of snow? How about a 1ft of fresh in the morning and you're opening the trail? How about when it was melting during the day and next morning it's frozen ice with ruts and tracks....?
Hi Rob,
I purchased my Split Rails and had them installed the day we left for a 7 day snowmobile trip from North Bay to the Abitibi Canyon. I have a 2007 Ski Doo GTX Limited 800 HO. Since the beginning, I have had issues with darting on trails and this machine has a high centre of gravity and with the stock skis you would have to overturn to get them to grab. This would cause it to tip back and forth and on a few occasions it would actually roll on to its side. Well now with the Split Rails they have totally changed the dynamics of this machine. Just like you say in your promotional material when you turn the skis, the machine follows instantly. There is no more darting and the machine is a lot more stable. The steering in various condition has improved 1000%. On our trip we ran in every condition imaginable. Lake running, winding trails, Hydro runs. It was a totally different experience. One of the situations that impressed my friends was when we pulled in to gas up and the lot had been ploughed right to the pavement. They would run their sleds 10 feet, get off pull the back around, and repeat this numerous times to get up to the pumps. They watched in awe as I pulled up to the pump and then drove around the car in front to get to the next pump. The Split Rail Ski tracks and goes where you point it on bare pavement. We travelled over 1500 KMs in 7 days and it was one of the most enjoyable trips I have ever made.
Thank you again for your work developing this product. It really does make a huge difference and I truly believe it will take snowmobiling to a whole new level.
Good luck, and all the best with this endeavour.
